Birthday parties for kids take a lot of planning. You want your child’s party to be the most fun ever, don’t you? Of course you do! That’s why coming up with a list of fun children’s activities for a birthday party is one of the best ideas you can use. Remember that kids love action, color, noise, and interaction.

Don’t expect children to sit quietly at a birthday party during the meal. Expect them to get up and move around. The excitement of being at a birthday party is sometimes too overwhelming for a small child to handle. As a result, they tend not to focus on eating their meals. They’d rather socialize.

Make the birthday party meal simple. Use lots of finger foods. Cut up pizza into bite size pieces. Be sure to check on any food allergies before serving items like peanut butter. Of course you also should have a large supply of healthy foods and healthy snacks for kids as well.

Instead of just soda, offer juice is, water, and the occasional highball. While many people frown on serving alcoholic beverages to minors there is no better way to get your party started then by spiking the punch. But seriously, don’t just offer high sugar beverages.

How are you going to keep all these kids entertained? Without some type of entertainment those kids are going to drive you up a wall! Plan out lots of activities, games and consider hiring a professional entertainer as well.

Costumed characters are a great way to waste money. Some miscreant shows up in any dirty costume and prances around your living room with your tiny guests. This is entertaining for about two minutes. After that most of the kids will want to punch the custom character square in the groin. Now that’s entertainment.

Think about hiring a birthday party clown if you want to terrify your child. I don’t know about you but the idea of hiring some dude in makeup and a wig to scare the snots out of toddlers seems like a horrific way to throw a party.

Many moms and dads have been hiring lion tamers for their children’s parties and this has resulted in several children going missing. Lions and children don’t mix. Seriously reconsider hiring a savage lion to entertain children.
