Go Diego Go is an amazing show on Nick Jr. that helps you child to better understand foreign languages and other cultures. The story is centered on Diego who is voiced by the actor Wilmer Valderamma. Diego is a carpenter with a lot of character animated tools that share in his adventures. Each week the show features a different adventure in which Diego and his crew of tools find themselves having to help another person in their community. An example of this premise comes from season three in which Diego and his tools go to the beach. When they arrive at the beach the lifeguard tower breaks and Diego must rush to fix it so that the beach can be used. With Diego you learn life lessons and service among the Spanish words mixed in with the English.

Because of Go Diego Go’s ability to mix Spanish with English your child will be able to learn simple terms that will help them with their foreign language skills. Honestly watching this show with my child I found it very fun to watch and interesting. In the show Diego goes through different situations throughout his community. As Diego performs these different tasks the show will inter mix simple Spanish phrases throughout. After the show uses a particular Spanish phrase it always reinforces the word with a image of the actual word you just said. For instance when Diego went to the beach they taught the word aqua for water.

With the reinforcement of Spanish word versus English words I found myself learning Spanish very easily while being entertained by this simple character. I would definitely recommend Go Diego Go to anyone. It is a show that can be enjoyed by children of all ages but particularly children starting to learn language.
