The Xbox 360 ring of death has tormented Xbox 360 owners ever since it was first released. The Xbox 360 ring of death is mainly caused due to loose solder joints which occur due to overheating. 1. First of all, select a good, dust free location to place your Xbox 360 console. Accumulation of dust blocks the ventilation of the Xbox 360 console, causing it to overheat easily and thereby resulting in the Xbox 360 ring of death.

2. Make it a habit to clean the external casing of your console using a soft cloth. When selecting a location, also make sure that it is a cool ventilated place.

4. It is important that you keep the console in a horizontal position, as the surface area of heat removal is much larger than keeping the console vertical. Keeping the console vertically may also damage the DVD drive as there can be movement of disks.

5. The most important step is that you keep the console on a hard, polished, flat surface and not on surfaces such as carpets.
