A followup automatic responder should enable you to capture email addresses on your websites and send them regular communications without you ever actually having to do anything once you have done the initial set up. So what do you need to look for when choosing an autoresponder?

A followup automatic responder should enable you to design the sign up form using point and click and then should provide you with a little bit of code that you put n your website. Ideally this will be javascipt which means if you make any changes to the form design it will automatically be updated on your website(s).

A followup automatic responder should allow you to write all your emails in advance and then schedule when people who join your mailing list will receive them. Eg when they sign up you may want to send them a welcome email. The following day you may want to send them some basic information about your site. On day 5 you may want to send them a special offer etc. You should be able to do all of this automatically.

If you do decide you want to send a message to everybody at the same time (known as a broadcast) then this is also something you should be able to do in seconds – simply paste your text and send.

You don’t want to have to spend any time manually managing your list so a followup automatic responder should also allow people to leave your list at the click of a button. Nobody wants people to leave their list but the fact is if they want to leave they aren’t going to buy anything from you anyway so better that they can leave without requiring any additional work from you.

There are two followup automatic responder services that will do all of this and more for you. You can see exactly what they do on my blog at

I wrote after using both services for some time. I have to say that you will probably be happy with whichever service you choose as they both do just about everything you would expect from a followup automatic responder.

However my personal preference just for ease of use is Aweber. And I have noticed that most of the top internet marketers do seem to use them too.
