Just because your business is online, and an Ecommerce business does not mean you are not going to have to pay attention to the fundamentals of all businesses on or off line. Many small business people and entrepreneurs wish to start their own e-commerce business, and since it is not very well regulated, we find that these new market entrants often take the easy way out, and they don’t think much about integrity or ethics when running their companies.

There are far too many people online pretending to have a successful secret formula to making $1 million. They then sell their secret plans, strategies, and even e-books on how to get rich online. The funny thing is they haven’t made a dime yet, and are generally operating at a loss until their business gets going. Not only do they themselves not know how to make $1 million online, their own success formula probably isn’t working.

“Buyer beware!” as they say, and yet, shouldn’t e-commerce entrepreneurs beware of themselves, as they stoop to new lows? After all, how can they harness loyalty and develop their personal brands online, when all they are doing is misrepresenting themselves?

It seems that many get rich quick entrepreneurs online are willing to cut corners, and destroy their own personal brand name, just to snag the next sucker that is willing to pay them $59.59 for some secret scheme, or some quote “secret success formula,” to making millions of dollars online. There is a right way and a wrong way to operate an online business, and I think we’ve just shown that doing it in an unethical, and dishonest and questionable way, is the wrong way.

The reality is that a successful long-term business online is the same as a successful business off-line. You must harness loyalty, operate with integrity, and secure a strong personal brand. I hope you will please consider all this.
