For any kind of work or project, we want to do in life we need skills, there is no quick way to get past this, you have to learn them. Learn from experts, what you need to learn, but only learn what you need, many so-called cool skills do not actually help you. Just ask yourselves this:

1/ Is it a core skill?

2/ Is it something I need to know now or later when my business grows?

3/ If I do not learn it can I achieve my goals?

So we ask is it a core skill?

If I need to write articles and reports to achieve my financial freedom, then I better learn it or change ideas on how to make my money. Do I need a website? Only two ways you get it, ideally build your own, total control as well as added confidence, if not can I afford to outsource it. So there you see a difference, many skills are not core skills if you have the money to outsource, but how in control of your financial future would you feel, if you outsourced everything.

Secondly do I need it now, often people say, when I learn that I will be able to start my business, is it true or an excuse? Many years when I was getting my qualifications in hypnosis and NLP, I met a girl, we got chatting, and she already had 5 full qualifications in many alternative health skills. I asked her what she wanted to do; she waxed lyrically on how she was going to run a centre doing this and that. I met her a few years ago she now has over 25 qualifications, many up to instructor level, has never earned a bean and still says she needs another qualification to get started. So as you can see too many skills just lead to no money and becoming a scared perpetual student.

So ask yourself before you start learning a skill for your business, if I don’t learn it can I start my business now? You might well surprise yourself and guess what, it is easier to learn when you already have a growing business boosting your confidence behind you.

I have found though one of the quickest ways to develop these core skills, is get help, look for experts, they can help speed up the process of learning these skills. Your goals are your own, but they are unlikely to be unique, so get that help to achieve your financial and personal goals. A good wealth coach can reduce the learning to months instead of years, leaving you more time to enjoy your family and other life goals. At the same time you will be building up a network of goal orientated people, together you can help each other to go even further.
