There comes a time in your internet marketing life where you have to face the reality of Twitter. It is the hottest thing going right now and I am sure a lot of fortunes are going to be made on it. I am still wondering if it has what it takes to make it long term, but I figure since it seems to be a great marketing tool, why not use it?

So after you have signed up for Twitter, then what? I mean, you may not know a lot of people who are on Twitter, so how do you obtain a large following who wants to listen to what you have to say (or “tweet”)?

You will find that there are a LOT of new software programs and services out that claim to be able to bring you a lot of followers on Twitter. But the question is, are they TARGETED?

Because just having a lot of followers that have no interest in what you have to say or what you are promoting may not really service your needs, or even worse, your prospects needs.

There are several ways in which to grow your Twitter base. Some are free. Some are not. Of course, you will either spend time or money to grow your following, but either way it won’t just happen on its own.

So what are your options?

Well, recently, one of the blogs I follow came up with this very cool tool called Twitter Rocket. The claims are that with Twitter Rocket, all I have to do is spend 1 hour a day for a week and magically I will have highly targeted leads that will be hungry for whatever it is I am promoting.

But I wonder if it will work?

Of course, there is a free way of finding targeted followers. Which I share freely on my blog and will be doing a video about it soon for my video channels.

Either way, you have to spend some amount of time to target the followers, and still stay within the TOS, don’t spam people, and provide good content, however short it is.

Then again, some days Twitter seems like nothing but a free spam engine. No matter. Until it doesn’t work, I say use what does!
