Who Knew These Were Weird Animals After All?
Sometimes creatures we got used to turn out to be rather weird animals with strange behaviors. Here are a few interesting examples.
Pink Sea Creature Has Great Abs
Living in the bottom of the sea, shrimps live in groups and are only able to swim going backwards. Because they lack any fins that would allow them to swim in water as fishes do, shrimps resort to quickly pulling in and pushing out their abdomens and this repetitive movement propels them in the sea. Just imagine a similar motion in humans! Some shrimp species will also be able to walk and crawl on rocks and at the sandy bottom of the sea.
Healthy Reptilians Talk By Doing Push-Ups
It is now understood that sagebrush lizards communicate between themselves by doing intricate and nuanced series of push-ups. These push-up seances are as detailed as bird songs and may convey a large number of different meanings. In addition to moving their torsos in this fashion, many species of lizards also use other kinds of body languages such as head nods and tail thumps to communicate and understand themselves.
Flying Beauty Has The Shapes
Did you to know that the penis of the male dragonfly is shaped like a shovel and it may be used to remove the sperm of a competing male out of a female to then be able to impregnate her again? It will also be interesting to know that when it is in nymph form and lives under water during the first stage of its life, the dragonfly breathes through the gills that are located in its rectum. During this time, it is able to propel itself quite quickly by pushing out water out of its anus.
