You know that feeling – the one of apprehension or downright awkwardness – when you see a woman that interest you but just can’t seem to get the nerve up to make the approach. Well here are some tips that may just make that approach a whole lot easier to deal with and find yourself approaching women with ease and success.

Most important if situations to approach women are limited, you need to create a situation to where you can easily start a conversation. The bar scene scenario of approaching a woman is not the only choice possible for a man to make an adventurous approach to a woman. Where ever women are is great places so do not limit yourself.

Always make sure you are looking and smelling good if you are even remotely considering your outing to include approaching women. Dress appropriately for the situation. If you are going to the grocery store on a Saturday afternoon, dress casual. You will look out of place and set up if you are dressed in a suit and tie, on a Saturday when you typically wouldn’t wear one, even for work. However, do not stroll in wearing a ratty tee shirt and some lounge pants.

Continuing on with the grocery store scenario, a man can easily approach a woman and ask for assistance in locating an item. Remember, women are by nature, nurtures, and helpful. They do not mind being asked for assistance and are happy to help. An approach could be “Excuse me, but could you help me? I am looking to purchase some wine to go with (fill in the blank). Could you recommend one?” Another conversation starter could be “Hello, excuse me, I don’t mean to bother you, but have you ever tried (fill in the blank). I have a hard time cooking single servings so was looking to try some of these frozen entrees. Could you suggest any?” This scenario is if you are in the frozen food section mind you. If you are in canned goods, you can see how this would not be effective at all.

Now you have successfully made the approach. If you are interested in the woman, keep the conversation going. A woman will extend her help in a lingering response or long answer to draw more from you if they are interested. If they are not interested or unavailable, they will answer your request for help but keep it short and to the point.

A couple things to keep in mind when approaching women are match the woman’s mood unless of course the woman’s tone is off-standish. Make sure to watch the tone and inflection of your speech to not sound too aggressive as to not intimidate the woman. Lastly, do not over stay your welcome in a conversation. When the conversation becomes labored, exit graciously by thanking the female for her help and go on about your business. If you feel a connection had been made, you may want to make comment that you hope you run into her again at the store (or whatever location you are at) or if the conversation was extremely comfortable, offer her your number suggesting that maybe the two of you could meet for coffee or lunch at a future date.
